Preview CartLane – WooCommerce Upsells, Order Bumps, Funnels & Cart Recovery
Turn Every WooCommerce Buying Moment Into a Revenue Opportunity
CartLane brings the most important WooCommerce conversion workflows into one connected system. Recover abandoned carts, improve the cart and checkout experience, launch relevant order bumps, recommend complementary products, build post-purchase upsell and downsell journeys, test offer variations, and run targeted pricing campaigns from one modern workspace.
Instead of managing disconnected plugins for cart recovery, product recommendations, order bumps, funnels, offer testing, and promotional pricing, CartLane connects these workflows to the same WooCommerce products, orders, customer journey, and analytics foundation.
- Increase average order value with order bumps, checkout add-ons, Smart Offers, and post-purchase offers.
- Recover more purchase intent with automated abandoned-cart workflows and secure cart-restoration links.
- Build connected customer journeys with visual upsell and downsell funnel steps.
- Make better campaign decisions with A/B variants, conversion metrics, and winner selection.
- Run flexible promotions with percentage, fixed, BOGO, quantity-tier, and role-based pricing rules.
CartLane Pro extends the free CartLane plugin. Install CartLane Free first, then activate CartLane Pro to unlock the advanced commercial modules described below.
One Connected WooCommerce Revenue System
Revenue opportunities appear throughout the buying journey—not only at checkout. CartLane helps you work across the product page, AJAX side cart, checkout, abandoned-cart recovery flow, post-purchase experience, and performance analysis without breaking the customer journey into unrelated tools.
- Recommend complementary products while buying intent is active.
- Present focused add-ons before the original order is completed.
- Recover eligible carts when shoppers leave before purchasing.
- Route customers through relevant post-purchase upsell and downsell steps.
- Apply targeted promotional rules without maintaining a separate pricing stack.
- Review offer and recovery activity through the shared CartLane analytics workflow.
Recover Abandoned WooCommerce Carts
CartLane Free provides the abandoned-cart recovery foundation used alongside CartLane Pro. Capture eligible guest and registered-customer cart sessions, configure a recovery email sequence, bring shoppers back through secure restore-cart links, and review recovery activity from the CartLane workspace.
- Eligible guest and registered-customer cart capture
- Configurable recovery email sequence
- Secure restore-cart links
- Email preview and test-email workflow
- Cart, customer, product, date, and recovery-status visibility
- Unsubscribe handling and scheduled cleanup
- Abandoned-cart and recovered-revenue reporting
Recovery email delivery depends on your WordPress email configuration. A properly configured transactional email or SMTP provider is recommended for production stores.
Order Bumps and Checkout Revenue Opportunities
Present relevant product offers while the shopper is already completing a purchase. CartLane Free includes one active order bump, while CartLane Pro removes the active-campaign limit so you can run multiple order bump campaigns across your store.
- Unlimited active order bumps with CartLane Pro
- WooCommerce product-based offers
- Product, category, and cart targeting through the shared CartLane rule system
- Multiple offer presentation templates from the CartLane foundation
- Offer acceptance and revenue event tracking
- Connected checkout add-ons through Smart Offer campaigns
Smart Offers Across the Buying Journey
Build recommendation campaigns for different stages of the WooCommerce purchase flow. Choose products manually, use categories, reuse WooCommerce cross-sells and upsells, or resolve recommendations from the current cart context.
Frequently Bought Together
Show complementary products on WooCommerce product pages and let shoppers select relevant items without leaving the buying flow.
Side Cart Recommendations
Turn the CartLane AJAX side cart into an additional merchandising surface with recommendations based on the shopper’s current cart.
Checkout Add-ons
Present focused add-on products at checkout, where shoppers can make a final purchase decision before completing the original order.
Flexible Campaign Controls
- Product-page, side-cart, checkout, and post-purchase placements
- Manual, product-based, category-based, and cart-based product sources
- WooCommerce cross-sell, upsell, and same-category strategies
- Product, category, cart, customer, and schedule targeting
- Campaign priority and product limits
- Impression and acceptance event tracking
Post-Purchase Upsells and Downsells
Keep the revenue journey moving after the original WooCommerce order is placed. Create targeted upsell and downsell offers for related products, upgrades, bundles, or special post-purchase discounts.
- Upsell and downsell offer types
- Product and discount configuration
- Trigger, display, payment, and schedule settings
- Offer-session and acceptance tracking
- Viewed, accepted, declined, and payment-failure event visibility
- Gateway-aware readiness checks and safe fallback behavior
Payment compatibility notice: Post-purchase charging depends on the exact payment gateway plugin, tokenization support, stored payment method, order state, and configured CartLane adapter. CartLane checks readiness and fails safely when a supported charge path is not available. Review the current compatibility documentation before enabling post-purchase charging on a production store.
Build Visual Upsell and Downsell Funnels
Organize checkout, upsell, and downsell steps into a connected customer journey. The visual funnel builder makes it easier to understand how offers relate to one another instead of managing isolated campaign screens.
- Visual workflow canvas
- Upsell and downsell nodes
- Accept and decline branches
- Linked CartLane offer validation
- Post-purchase routing
- Funnel activation and management
A/B Test Post-Purchase Offers
Compare two post-purchase offer variations before making a permanent campaign decision. CartLane keeps variant assignment consistent within the offer session and records the performance of each variation.
- Variant A and Variant B configuration
- Test offer copy, product, discount, and template settings
- Views, accepts, declines, revenue, and conversion metrics
- Running and completed experiment states
- Manual winner selection
Dynamic Pricing, BOGO, and Quantity Campaigns
Create targeted promotion rules around products, categories, quantities, customer roles, cart value, and campaign schedules. CartLane applies pricing through WooCommerce cart calculations while preserving the original product price for consistent recalculation.
- Percentage discounts
- Fixed discounts
- Buy One Get One rules
- Quantity-tier pricing
- Role-based pricing
- Minimum quantity and subtotal conditions
- Product and category targeting
- Start and end scheduling
Understand What Happened Across the Customer Journey
CartLane Free owns the shared Analytics and Event Intelligence foundation. CartLane Pro sends upsell, downsell, recommendation, funnel, and A/B-test activity into the same event vocabulary so store operators can investigate campaign outcomes in context.
- Visit-scoped customer-journey correlation
- Cart, checkout, payment, order, recovery, and post-purchase context
- Upsell and downsell outcome visibility
- Recommendation impression and acceptance tracking
- Order and revenue context
- Related events and investigation details
Built-in CartLane workflow and analytics records are stored in your WordPress database. No separate analytics SaaS account is required for the included reports.
A Modern WooCommerce Admin Workspace
CartLane Pro extends the same modern CartLane admin used by the free plugin. Campaigns, funnels, pricing rules, analytics, integrations, and license controls remain inside one consistent navigation and visual system.
- Unified CartLane navigation
- Focused campaign builders
- Modern responsive admin interface
- Modular feature architecture
- Translation-ready user interface
- WordPress capability and REST permission checks
Integration and Gateway Readiness
Manage Pro integration settings from the CartLane workspace and inspect adapter readiness for a specific post-purchase workflow. Compatibility is evaluated using the active payment plugin, store configuration, order, and available saved payment method instead of relying on a universal gateway claim.
- Gateway-readiness inspection workflow
- Adapter-based post-purchase payment handling
- Safe fallback when a supported charge path is unavailable
- Extension points for additional provider integrations

Licensing, Privacy, and Updates
CartLane Pro uses license activation to verify Pro entitlement and provide eligible commercial updates. License requests may include license-related details such as the purchase code or license key, site URL, installation identifier, product identifier, plugin version, environment, activation identifier, and current entitlement status.
WooCommerce products, cart contents, campaign settings, customer purchase data, orders, and local analytics are not sent to the licensing service as part of ordinary license verification. Normal CartLane store workflows remain inside WordPress and WooCommerce.
Documentation and Support
Public documentation covers installation, CartLane Free dependency setup, license activation, module configuration, troubleshooting, gateway-readiness guidance, compatibility, and updates.
Item support covers CartLane installation, license activation, documented configuration, and reproducible CartLane Pro defects. It does not include custom development, third-party plugin customization, theme-specific redesign, hosting configuration, or custom WooCommerce business logic.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does CartLane Pro work without CartLane Free?
No. CartLane Pro requires CartLane Free 1.1.4 or newer. The free plugin supplies the shared runtime, admin workspace, AJAX side cart, checkout controls, abandoned-cart recovery, analytics, and foundational conversion modules.
Is abandoned-cart recovery included?
Yes. Abandoned-cart recovery is included in the required CartLane Free plugin. It supports eligible cart capture, configurable recovery emails, secure restore-cart links, email testing, recovery status, and recovered-revenue reporting.
Can I create both upsell and downsell steps?
Yes. CartLane Pro supports both offer types and lets funnel branches route customers according to accepted or declined offers.
Does post-purchase charging work with every payment gateway?
No universal gateway claim is made. Compatibility depends on the exact payment plugin, tokenization support, order state, saved payment method, and CartLane adapter readiness. Review the current documentation and test your production payment setup on staging.
Where can Smart Offers appear?
Supported campaign contexts include product pages, the CartLane side cart, checkout, and post-purchase workflows. The active storefront output depends on the selected campaign type and placement.
What happens if my Pro license becomes inactive?
CartLane Free continues to operate. Pro-only modules remain locked until a valid entitlement is restored. Shared CartLane data is not automatically deleted because a Pro license becomes inactive.
Can CartLane pricing rules be targeted?
Yes. Pricing conditions can use products, categories, quantity thresholds, cart subtotal, customer roles, and scheduled start or end times.
Is CartLane translation ready?
Yes. CartLane Free and CartLane Pro use dedicated WordPress text domains and include translation templates.
Does uninstalling CartLane Pro delete shared CartLane data?
No. CartLane Pro does not automatically remove the shared CartLane Free data foundation during ordinary deactivation or uninstallation. Review the CartLane Free data-retention settings before removing production data.
